To provide both construction and maintenance support for refrigeration operations at the University of Saskatchewan.
Reporting to the HVAC Supervisor, this position works in a multi-trade environment and requires the incumbent to work independently, apply technical skills and common sense to effectively troubleshoot problems. The work involves assessment and resolution of varied requests in a fast-paced and demanding environment. This position works under variable conditions, indoors, as well as outdoors in all types of weather, and requires moderate to heavy physical labour. Work may be in confined spaces containing asbestos or hazardous materials, as well as tunnels, hatches, crawl spaces and all mechanical areas that may be hot and humid, noisy, light and movement restricted, is required. The incumbent must be aware and mindful of safety hazards and work in compliance with all safety practices. Evening, weekend, emergency call out, and shift work maybe required periodically to accommodate work needs.
