We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as BUYER.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Buyer, the Buyer will be responsible for some purchasing activities for the Regina Bypass Project. This position will be based out of the main project office which is located in Regina, SK. Position will commence January 2016.
As a Buyer, some key responsibilities include:
Develops and manages local supplier relationships
Manages renewals, extensions and issuance of new contracts
Provides expertise to internal stakeholders on purchasing related issues
Facilitates on-going supplier business and strategic alignment reviews including management of supplier relationships and continuous improvement initiatives
Develops and aligns a purchasing/buyer network as required by the business
Effectively engages vendors and stakeholders with confidence in challenging negotiations
Performs other administrative support duties as required
Qualifications/Experience:
Post-secondary education in business administration or in a related field is considered an asset
Working towards Purchasing designation is considered an asset
2-5 years of experience in a Buyer role, or a role in a similar function
Experience in material and services procurement, contract negotiation, RFPs, RFIs and RFQs
Experience with strategic sourcing and capability to design and leverage spend categories
High degree of attention to detail and proven ability to dive into contracts and terms
Proficient with Microsoft Office
SAP experience considered an asset
Good analytical and critical thinking skills
