Sunrise Health Region, with its Regional Health Centre in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, requires a General Internal Medicine Specialist who is certified or eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is registered and licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan. The physician must maintain membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Position Summary and Geographic Information:
Commencing December 14, 2015 a temporary position for a six month term, is available for a General Internist. This opportunity is intended to cover a 6 month leave and may require work in an established clinic. On call at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre and patient care in the 6 bed Intensive Care Unit is required. The position is fee for service with a weekly guarantee for hospital call. Consultation is provided to over 40 Family Physicians in our Region from whom referrals are obtained.
The Sunrise Health Region is located in the east central part of the Province, with a population of 60,000. The referral population for many of our specialty services is much larger, approximately 100,000. This area extends itself north, south and east into western Manitoba.
Currently, the Sunrise Health Region provides the following specialty services:
- Obstetrics/Gynecology - Ophthalmology
- General Surgery - Pediatrics
- Radiology - Medical Health Officer
- Psychiatry - Anaesthesiology
- Internal Medicine
