Facility: VICTORIA HOSPITAL
Job Description: The Acute Care Flow Navigator is responsible and accountable for patient bed management and utilization of the Victoria Hospital beds and nursing staff resources in collaboration with the Nursing Managers during their hours of work and independently in the off hours.  The navigators work collaboratively with the nursing unit managers to ensure patients receive quality care.  The Acute Care Flow Navigator is the management representative in the absence of the Nursing Unit Managers and all senior administrative personnel; therefore they provide both clinical and administrative direction, problem solving and leadership within the hospital.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Registration with SRNA
Education:  Registered Nurse, B.ScN is preferred
                   Five to Ten years of related nursing experience.
                   Previous Nursing Administration experience would be an asset
                   Certification in BCLs, ACLS TLR, PART
                   Knowledge and experience in LEAN would be an asset
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Extensive knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice.  Working knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of hospital operation and nursing administration
Ability to plan, organize, and supervise large-scale and comprehensive nursing activities.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative and medical personnel, employees, patients, the public and other departments and agencies.
Computer proficiency, ESP knowledge an asset.
Strong leadership abilities, interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, and skill in management of successful organizational change.
