Under the general administration of the One Arrow First Nation Health and Social Development Director and under the supervision of the Saskatoon Tribal Council Justice Program; the Justice Worker plans and implements a community justice program that is preventative, holistic, and integrated with the existing community programs and services. In addition, the Justice Worker will provide community members assistance with the judicial process, along with support and access to appropriate justice resources.
Duties:
Establish a Community Justice Committee which is comprised of an accurate representation of the community and holds regular meetings.
Policy and Procedures development.
Address the mandate, goals, objectives, operating practices, and priorities of the Community Justice Program.
Coordinate adult and youth alternative measures in cooperation with the surrounding justice personnel (Crown, RCMP, Court Workers, and so on).
Development, enhancement, and maintenance of justice related partnerships.
Coordinate and, or, deliver community justice information workshops, training sessions, orientations and meetings for band members.
Encourage the involvement of Elders in all areas of Justice.
Coordinate activity and statistical reporting, as well as retrieve financial requirements, and submit when requires.
Public Education: provide ongoing education in the area of Justice and the services of the Justice Program on the First Nations.
Proposal writing to obtain additional funds for justice related activities within the community.
