1.Provides in-house legal services to the City of Saskatoon, including City Council, Committees of Council, the Administration and the Citys Boards in a variety of areas including, Litigation, Municipal Law, Planning and Administrative Law, Employment Law, Prosecutions, Real Estate, Construction Law and Corporate Law.
2.Acts on behalf of the City in civil litigation, administrative law matters and prosecutions at all levels of court and before various Administrative Tribunals.
3.Attends meetings of Standing Policy Committees and other Committees of Council as required.
4.Performs a complete range of municipal and corporate legal services, including bylaw enforcement, labour law, contracts, planning and development law, litigation, legislative drafting, etc.
5.Performs other related duties as assigned.
-Graduation from an accredited school of law.
-Membership, or eligibility for membership, in the Law Society of Saskatchewan.
-Four to six years related experience, with at least two years in an in-house municipal law office environment.Consideration may be given to candidates with less than four years related experience.
