The Creighton Work Prep Centre (CWPC) assists individuals from the northeastern region of Saskatchewan who are seeking employment, training and careers in the trades and industrial sector as well as the service industries. The CWPC provides a variety of services for individuals looking for work and for employers looking for qualified workers.
The Job Coach will provide assessment and evaluation of clients. Working with the clients, employers and agencies to address barriers is an essential function of the position. Assist in planning of training. The probability of contract extension for the successful candidate is high.
Work with clients to determine their skills and abilities and as they form their career goals
Develop and maintain a working relationship with potential employers in the region
Refer clients to potential employment opportunities. This will range from entry-level jobs in hospitality or the service industry for clients new to the work force to jobs in trades and industry for skilled workers
Provide personal development advice, career planning and mentoring to clients
Assist clients working on employment barriers
Monitor clients who become employed and provide support for any job-related challenges that may arise
Enter client information into the database and develop reports as required

Required Qualifications and Experience: Trade certification is preferred. Life skill coaching certification is an asset. Office experience is an asset. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Good working knowledge of MS Office and exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of a First Nation language or culture is preferred. Travel is required. Must have access to a reliable vehicle and valid drivers license.
