Description

The Podiatry Assistant (PA) is responsible for providing support in both a clinical, administrative, and reception setting, to ensure the efficient running of the Podiatry clinic.
There are 2 separate positions available.  One specific to reception duties and the second working along side the Podiatrist in the clinic setting.
The PA will follow all procedures and policies of the position while maintaining a professional and polite manner. Confidentiality is understood and maintained. The incumbent will have to sign and adhere to the Podiatry Clinic Confidentiality Agreement. Computer, telephone, and money handling skills are needed.
Duties:
Providing reception duties for the Podiatry Clinic, scheduling appointments, excellence in using computers, producing invoices, taking payments, handling cash and point-of-sale transactions;
Making and receiving telephone calls from clients and professionals with inquiries and seeking appointments;
Balancing daily payments and making deposits;
Timely managing of referrals and client wait list as well as facilitating information pathways;
Maintaining patient files within an EMR program. This will involve scanning and linking documents, as well as completing forms within the program and printing documents as required;
Assisting in the completion of medical histories of patients, escorting them and assisting into the treatment rooms,  as required;
Entering of medical and personal data into the EMR, and collecting and tracking statistics;
Handling of orthoses in and out of the Podiatry Clinic, and processing courier pick-ups;
Cleaning and sterilization of instruments, ensuring a regular supply of sterile podiatry instruments;
Tracking and highlighting shortages of Podiatry and office supplies;
Take direction to apply dressings and padding to patients, as required by the Podiatrist.
