Description

The Town of Tisdale, a progressive community in northeast Saskatchewan with a population of over 4,000, is seeking to fill the position of Director of Recreation and Parks. Reporting to the CAO this is a senior management position that currently oversees a staff of 6 full time, 3 seasonal, as well as numerous Aquatic Centre staff, RECplex Concession staff and other custodial contracts.

Reporting to the CAO, the Director of Recreation and Parks is responsible for the overall direction and operation of the Recreation and Parks Department.  Areas of responsibility include parks, open spaces, walking trails, RECplex facility, Healthplex facility, Aquatic Centre, Outdoor Rink, Tennis Courts, cemetery, campground and boulevards.  

The preferred candidate should have the following Education and Experience requirements:

    Degree or Certificate in Recreation Administration or equivalent
    Previous experience in facility management preferably in a municipal environment
    Proven organizational, leadership and team management skills
    Strong interpersonal, communication and public relation skills
    Strong financial knowledge, with ability to forecast, create and adhere to budgets
    Strong computer skills with some knowledge of municipal accounting systems
