Description

Duties:  
- Supports the development and implementation of home (residential) and day time programs and services for adults with varying abilities, providing opportunities for community connections, personal development, and recreation.
- Provides daily guidance, supports, supervision and direction to Support Workers with an emphasis on motivating and leading staff through coaching and role-modeling to support individuals in achieving their goals.
- Uses a person-centered approach to develop, coordinate and facilitate a variety of community-based individual and/or group activities related to recreation, social and leisure, education, volunteerism, and transportation.
- Works collaboratively with Support Workers in the development and actualization of each participants person-centred plan.
- Schedules staff for 24 hour, 7 day per week operations, responsive to the needs of the individuals we serve.
- Assists with staff recruitment, initial orientation of new staff and ongoing training of existing staff.
- Provides personal and/or attendant care (i.e., feeding, toileting, transferring, and dressing), as required.
- Coordinates community resources to facilitate opportunities that support the social inclusion of individuals.
- Creates environments which ensure both individual and group needs are safely met.
Qualifications:
- Degree in related human services field  Psychology, Social Work, etc.) with minimum two years experience.
- Class 4 Drivers License; CPR and First Aid; Transfer, Lift and Repositioning training.
- Knowledge of community opportunities and service providers.
- Demonstrated innovation and creativity in engaging participants in purposeful, meaningful activities that help to achieve their goals.
The final candidates are required to provide satisfactory Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Record Checks.
