OPENING
We invite application for Group Home Operator of Unity Group Home #2 at 281 2nd Ave W. Unity, SK
HOURS
40 hours per week typically 8 day-time hours Mon Fri. Specific hours determined by needs of the Home
NATURE OF DUTIES
Provide support to participants in a manner that maximize their potential and quality of life by following established person-centered plans. The Group Home Operator is responsible for the day to day operation of Home. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Involved in interview and selection of staff and volunteers
- Orientation and training of staff
- Scheduling and work assignments
- Cover un-fillable shifts
- Staff support and development
- Submit payroll data
- Plan and chair staff meetings
- Process scheduling requests
- Maintain safety standards in the Home according to OH&S regulations
- Arrange and attend participant medical appointments, completing required documentation and prescribed actions
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in the Home
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Saskatchewan Drivers license
- Must provide a current Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Search prior to employment
- Knowledge of spoken and written English
- Minimum of Disability Support Worker Certificate or other relevant post-secondary education
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience and/or training
- Able to deal with unpredictable behaviors
- Able to work occasional nights or weekends
- Able to participate in physically demanding activities with participants
- Able to travel for work
