This job position is open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada and is located in the Balgonie, Sask. area.
Experience is not required but is an asset.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
-milking cows in 120 cow tie stall facility
-preparing a TMR ration and feeding/adjusting
rations based on cattle consumption
-daily scraping and cleaning of barn.
-detect heats, disease and health problems in livestock
-taking care of calves, feeding/bedding/treating
-cleaning of other barn
areas/equipment/milkhouse/office
-general maintenance in barn and with equipment
-operating various farm equipment/grain trucks
during seeding/silaging/harvest
-yard care and maintenance
-other various duties as required
AVERAGE DAILY HOURS
20-26 days worked per month
4:30am-(11:30am-12:00pm)
3:20pm-(6:30pm-7:00pm)
Hours are subject to change; Days worked and hour variations may be discussed in an interview
APPLICANT MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
-the ability to work independently or with others in a team environment, as required
-must be in good physical condition as this is a labour intensive job
-multi-tasking is required
-must be reliable, trustworthy and able to take initiative
-must be able to take direction from others as
requested
-common sense when working with animals and machinery is a must
-animal comfort and care is a top priority
-good animal handling skills
