Description

Camp Monahan, is looking for a experienced caretaker to take care of grounds for summer camping season. Successful applicant will have good organizational skills, work well under pressure, & have experience with electrical, plumbing, sewage systems, small equipment repair (lawnmowers, chainsaws) & carpentry skills (fixes structures, such as steps, doors, painting, etc). Caretaker is responsible to open camp in May including start-up plumbing & water wells, test sewage systems, open all buildings, preparing swimming pool & maintenance as required, testing swimming pool plumbing & filtration systems & set up site (docks in place, repair any winter damage over full site). Mowing of grass, & general upkeep as well as sundry duties as required or assigned over the term by Director or Assistant Director or  Buildings & Grounds committee.  OH&S guidelines must be adhered to at all times.
During May & June, caretaker will act as host & caretaker for rental groups ensuring facilities are clean & ready. During active summer children's camping season, Caretaker will ensure facilities are properly maintained. The caretaker may be responsible for supervising volunteers. Must act as mature repsonsible adult & role model as a representative of Camp at all times.
This position answers directly to Building & Grounds chair of the Board of Directors (May & June) & during youth camping season (July & August), your immediate supervisor is Camp Director & in their absence  Assistant Director. Valid drivers license, WHMIS, Pool Operators Course, Criminal record check are all required. First aid & CPR is considered an asset. All qualifications & certificates are required to be submitted at time of hire.

-certifications including Pool Operator's Course
-valid drivers license
-experience in electrical, plumbing, sewage systems, carpentry
-general handyman experience is an asset
