As the Head Lifeguard of the Aquatic Centre, reporting to the Aquatic Coordinator, you are energetic and responsible for the overall daily onsite management of the lifeguards including in-service training, scheduling, supervision, statistical reports, equipment inventory, Aquatic Safety Plan compliance, regular maintenance schedule including pool chemistry and pool policies/procedures.
The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and customer service skills. An ability to respond quickly and appropriately to emergency situations is essential. Preference will be given to an individual who has worked in an Aquatic environment for more than a year and has demonstrated the ability to coordinate, lead and function in a highly structured and dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will need to provide a Criminal Records/ Vulnerable Sector Check prior to the first day of work.
Qualifications: NLS Lifeguarding Certificate and/or Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate and/or LSS Instructor Certificate, Standard First Aid/CPR-C * Examiner status an asset
The work schedule will include days, evenings and weekends and include on-call times.
