Description

We are NorSask Forest Products LP  the largest independent wholly-owned First Nations sawmill in Canada.NorSask has been producing high-quality lumber for over 40 years with operational capacity in excess of 100 million board feet of lumber per year on a two-shift basis.

Our operations are located in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan  on the edge of the beautiful boreal forest of northwest Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the President and CEO, the General Manager is a key member of the management team.  

Position and Responsibilities:
Oversee the day to day technical, human resource and management operations of the sawmill.
Identify practical and sustainable solutions for operational and process-related problem areas.
Ensure the highest level of workplace safety and environmental performance within the mill.
Show personal and organizational behavior consistent with NorSasks core values.
Build and maintain a strong, caring relationship with mill staff to deliver performance.
Develop and implement good workflow systems throughout the operation.
Establish and maintain quality and production standards for all processes at the mill.
Be an effective communicator throughout all areas of the mill to facilitate optimum performance.

Qualifications:
Educated - completion of a trades-related program, diploma or degree.
Experienced - minimum 7 years of experience in sawmill or wood products manufacturing operations  must have a strong knowledge of lumber manufacturing.
Leader - demonstrated progression in leadership roles in a manufacturing setting.
Communicator  able to share ideas well and keep a team-based approach to problem-solving.
Relationship-builder  demonstrated ability to keep a diverse team headed in the same direction.
Organized  able to juggle a variety of competing projects and demands on time.
Accountable  focused on results.
