Description

Northern Quinoa Corporation is a vertically integrated specialty grain processing company with a head office out of Saskatoon Saskatchewan.  Since 1992 the company has been in the business of contracting, marketing, cleaning and value adding to grain and food products for worldwide distribution.  

Reporting to the VP of Agronomy, the successful candidate will develop and maintain excellent customer relations to ensure customer satisfaction and success in growing quinoa, an up-and-coming specialty crop for Western Canada.  The successful candidate will be responsible for duties such as field scouting, diagnostics, agronomic advice, soil management and technical solutions pertaining to quinoa.  The agronomist will work directly with the VP of Agronomy to additionally develop a successful breeding program and explore all avenues in making quinoa a recognizable and premier diversification crop across western Canada.  


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    Work with the VP of Agronomy to develop an excellent grower program to attract and incentivize new and existing growers to contract quinoa production
    Develop methods and practices to help mitigate production risk on farm
    Use mathematical and analytical models to conduct and analyze field and cost/return data
    Design and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating crops
    Prepare documentation for inspection and testing procedures
    Present findings to growers in an easy-to-understand actionable way
    Assisting the company to ensure a targeted goal of 100% grower satisfaction
    Work with growers, new and old, to help build up the overall acreage of quinoa on the prairies quickly and profitably
