Description

Fortis has implemented a Quality Management System by obtaining ISO Certification in Quality (9001), Environment (14001), and OHSAS Health & Safety (18001).  The QA & ISO Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the effective implementation of all three ISO systems.   The QA & ISO Coordinator is also responsible for auditing of the ISO procedures and driving the overall quality system for Fortis.  The QA & ISO Coordinator reports directly to the General Manager but works closely with other department heads. Maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System in order to attain ISO 9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 certification for Fortis Corporation
Ensure that requirements for quality, health & safety and environment are addressed at all levels of the organization.
Coordinate the scheduling of internal audits and assist in conducting internal audits including generating audit reports.
Work with external auditors to make improvements to current practices and continually update procedures to match ever changing ISO/OHSAS policies.
Ensure the system documentation and records are kept up to date.
Write procedures and work instructions and maintain the documents database accordingly.
Maintain non-conformance records and track the corrective actions until successful implementation.
Participate in addressing customer complaints and providing input to customer satisfaction evaluation process.
Organize management reviews and maintain appropriate records.
Coordinate and provide training to employees on the systems and processes.
Remain current on ISO/OHSAS standards.
Create new procedures and analyses for new jobs/projects in a timely manner.
Issue corrective action when necessary and ensure that corrective measures are taken.
Recommend initiatives for continuous improvement and develop opportunities for improvement.
