Description

Requirements:
Must have completed Grade 12 and be 18 years of age or older. Must hold current NLS Certification (or equivalent), current Standard First Aid certificate (or equivalent), CPR level C , and Aquatics Emergency Care certification. Able to perform a correct rescue of a spinal injured victim. Holds Pool Operator Course certificate (if not, must be willing to take it). Must be physically able to participate in camp activities, and have the ability and desire to work with both children and adults. Previous experience with canoeing, camping, and working with children is an asset.  Must be flexible, cooperative and willing to work in a team staff environment. Mature, responsible, and safety conscious individual with good leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, organizing and supervising all water activities at camp, including lifeguarding, skill development instruction, water safety instruction, free swims in pool or lake, water games, beach days, and canoeing. Responsible for maintenance & safety of pool, pool area & canoes during summer camp period. Involved in the planning of evening activities & special events for campers, as well as additional leadership roles as required by the Camp Director. Participation is expected in all aspects of camp (campfires, vespers, meals, wide games, etc). Active participation in the Faith Formation Program of LBC (see Faith Formation document on website).
