Description

Reporting to the Manager, the Communications Coordinator writes, designs, and distributes the Region's internal and external communication initiatives including newsletters, media releases, reports, and other publications. Using strategic thinking, creativity, teamwork, collaboration, and multitasking, the incumbent utilizes their excellent communications skills to enhance the public awareness of the Region's programs, services, and priorities. The successful applicant has experience researching, writing, and editing corporate content for all demographical audiences and encompasses technical skills in graphic design, videography/photography, website management, and/or digital and social media marketing. The incumbent has a solid understanding of the effectiveness of strong business relationships, thrives in a team environment, and thinks through a strategic lens.

Experience:
Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Communications/Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations or a suitable combination of education and experience.
A suitable combination of experience and training in various computer programs, graphic design, desktop publishing, and website maintenance applications. Familiarity with the Adobe and Microsoft Office Suites is considered an asset.
Previous experience in working with all forms of media including print, radio, electronic, and others.
Demonstrated superior skills in writing and editing sensitive materials for content, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness.

Required Qualifications:
* A certificate, diploma or degree from a recognized Administrative or Management program

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Ability to work independently and as a member of a multli-disciplinary team
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent public relations skills
* Exceptional written and oral communication skills
* Valid drivers license.


Additional Text:
Shifts consist of 08:00 to 16:30.
