The Aircraft Technician is responsible for conducting all servicing and maintenance tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Inspects, maintains, repairs, and test aircraft systems;
- Remove and replace line replaceable units and components;
- Specialty work in maintenance shops as required;
- Interpret technical publications and diagrams;
- Maintain tools and equipment required to perform primary duties;
- Order aircraft spare parts and materials;
- Conduct flight line servicing operations;
- Debrief Team Lead as required;
- Carry out workplace inspections and clean ups;
- Fill position of Desk Controller
In some cases:
- Carry out Safety Systems work as required.
- Carry out techniques for NDT.
- Carry out classroom, practical and/or on-job-training (OJT) for other Technicians, Servicing Technicians and Apprentices.

Aircraft Mechanic Skills
- Visually inspect / assess and assist repairs to aircraft structures, systems and equipment
- Remove/install and functionally test aircraft components
- Dismantle aircraft systems for repair and overhaul, and reassemble
- Complete records of work done and sustain an accurate record system
Aircraft Inspector Skills
- Certify that aircraft systems meet Transport Canada and company standards
