PURPOSE OF POSITION:
A SM Tech. preforms a variety of technician and production tasks directly related Surface Mount Technologies (in the SMT Department), including manual operations, programing, process development and robotic operations.
The SM Technician works under direct supervision of production leadership.
The role is a Maximum of a 40 hour work week for full-time staff.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Secondary school studies in electronics, electronic programming and/or engineering an asset, relevant experience in manufacturing, factory or electronics will be considered in lieu of.
Detail oriented and accurate, able to work for long periods with up-close visual tasks, continuous fine motor skills and repetitive motion and/or sitting/standing for long periods at time.
Good visual (eye) health required.
Experience with Lean an asset.
instrumentation or similar an asset.
Excellent mathematical skills and comprehension: multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals, measuring metric and imperial units.
Must be able to read, understand and interpret written and/or verbal instructions, technical documents, and various machine programming systems.
Have ability to communicate effectively, intellectually, both orally and written, with subordinates, peers and supervisors.
Ability to work very closely with a team of other assemblers.
Lifting of a minimum of 15 lbs. is required. Lifting is generally at or below 25 lbs. without significant repetitions.
Moderate exposure to machinery and chemical risks is anticipated.

Assist in machine loading, materials movement.
Machine/robotics operation.
Programming for repeat and new or revised products.
