Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of the Patient Care Coordinator Unit the Spiritual Care Coordinator will define the need for spiritual care, and manage the acquisition, provision and supervision of spiritual care services in the Regional Health Center as well as provide consultation and support to the other facilities within the Health Region.  The Spiritual Care Coordinator works in collaboration with other members of the clinical team to provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and residents, and as appropriate, to other staff members throughout the facilities.  It is expected that the Coordinator will receive and respond to referrals from other clinical staff who feel that a chaplains services may be beneficial to the patient/resident and /or treatment teams work.  Referrals may come from physicians, nurses, patient care coordinators, as well as other clinical staff.  The incumbent is the primary professional practitioner in this field for the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Post-graduate training  typically a Masters of Divinity Degree from an accredited university recognized by the Association of Theological Schools is preferred a degree is required;
1. Supervision in an internship of clinical pastoral education (CPE) or its equivalent;
2. Specific ordination by a faith community enabling a full sacramental ministry;
3. Several years of practice in chaplaincy in a health care setting;
4. Membership in the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (CAPPE);
5. Membership in Spiritual Care Saskatchewan;
6. A commitment to providing spiritual care in a multi-faith and interdenominational setting.
