Description

DUTIES
Processing and maintaining payroll and benefit records for employees including: new hires and terminations utilizing the ACCPAC Sage Program Canadian Payroll.
Setting up new employees in payroll, time and attendance, and benefits.
Responding to phone calls, emails or walk-in inquiries from staff regarding payroll and/or benefit matters.
Perform backup duties for other members of the finance team as required and other related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager
Perform manual pay functions including ROE's and garnishees.
Analyze and reconcile the payrolls & Year End processing T4's.
Reconciliation of benefits billings to payroll records
Participate in payroll process business improvements collaborating with internal team and effectively communicating improvement changes & other duties as assigned
* Administer Employee Benefit Loan program

CORE COMPETENCIES
experience with full cycle payroll for hourly and salary payroll
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, as well as payroll processing
Well versed in all payroll related functions and current legislation.
Attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality is critical.
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to multitask efficiently and flexibility to respond to changes in priorities.
Good organizational and time management skills; Ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical skills, ability to detect errors and their source, and take corrective action.
Initiative  Self-starter, take ownership and responsibility.
Ability to work independently and as a team player
*meet department and individual deadlines and set and adjust priorities frequently.
Post-secondary education in an Accounting, Administration and/or Payroll program is a definite asset.
*MUST POSSESS A VALID SK DRIVERS LICENSE AND RELIABLE VEHICLE
