Description

Wanuskewin Heritage Park is a non-profit, registered charitable organization located 5 minutes north of Saskatoon that exists to advance the understanding and appreciation of the evolving cultures on the Northern Plains Indigenous peoples. Wanuskewin is a living reminder of the peoples sacred relationship with the land and we accomplish this through education and interpretation programs, as well as active archaeological dig sites, art galleries and exhibits.


The position requires the following accountabilities:

- Assists in providing support during annual summer events like National Aboriginal Day Celebrations and other Celebrations
- Assists in providing support for celebrations at the park all summer long
- Contributes to a welcoming environment for all Wanuskewin visitors and guests with a focus on service excellence
- Assists customers with general inquiries and to locate merchandise.
- Accurately track all purchases into the park POS/database
- Actively promotes WHP by ensuring event information is promoted.
- Provides support around all client service tasks and initiatives.
- Successfully achieves established sales targets and financial viability of the Gift Shop
- Completes all appropriate procedures with opening and closing of the Gift Shop and Facility.
- Ensures inventory is received, priced and displayed accurately and in a reasonable time frame.
- Assists with displays and merchandising of stock.
- Communicates with management on inventory shortages and assists with ordering.
- Assist with month and year end inventory counts.
- Ensure the Gift Shop is clean and presentable at all times.
- Fosters a positive working relationship among the various departments across the organization.
