Statistics Canada is hiring staff in Pelican Narrows for the 2016 Census
Canadas next Census of Population will take place in May 2016. However, for residents in First Nations communities, enumeration will begin in April 2016.
Do you live in a First Nation community?
Preference will be given to community members for supervisory and non-supervisory positions.
What kinds of jobs?
Crew Leaders (supervisors): As a Crew Leader, you will list dwellings on maps, and train, lead and supervise a team of Enumerators.
Enumerators: As an Enumerator, you will identify dwellings on maps, conduct personal interviews and follow up with respondents in person.
When?
Varying employment periods between February and July 2016, depending on assignment and location.
Who can apply?
You are eligible to apply if you are:
18 years or older prior to the start of duties
a Canadian citizen or eligible to work in Canada
interested in short-term work
available to work as part of an enumeration team for a period of at least three weeks.
All candidates must pass a written test, reference check, and government security assessment. Supervisory positions will require the candidate to pass an interview. Knowledge of and experience working in First Nations communities is considered an asset.
Rates of pay
Crew Leaders (supervisors) will be paid $19.91 per hour plus authorized expenses.
Enumerators (or equivalent positions) will be paid $16.31 per hour plus authorized expenses.
