Description

Working under the Chief Privacy Officer, this position will be the first point of contact for the public for questions, masking requests, audit requests, complaints, etc. This position will aid in the development of the privacy framework and policies for eHealth Saskatchewan and support the development, implementation, and operation of the privacy model for the EHR.

The successful candidate will manage privacy deliverables and deadlines in support of eHealth Saskatchewan programs and provide ongoing consultation for programs as well as corporate and operational activities. This position will conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and provide subject matter expertise on policy and process, privacy requirements, etc. as it relates to The Health Information Protection Act (HIPA) and The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP).

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a degree in health information, social science or public administration, supplemented by experience in the health sector and experience within an IT setting.  Consideration will also be given to those who have completed the IAPP certificate through the University of Alberta.

Expertise in human relations and in a multi-stakeholder professional environment is required in order to successfully introduce significant technological change into a sector where professionals have had separate paper-based charting systems.  You will also have knowledge of word processing and PowerPoint in order to develop presentations and create documents.
