Description

The Spiritwood & District Museum is offering full-time summer employment to a post-secondary student. The successful applicant will be responsible for the daily operations of the museum which includes opening and closing the museum each day, giving tours, assisting with yard maintenance and other museum-related tasks, and acting as assistant curator. This position also involves doing presentations at schools and nursing homes. The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training in museumology, such as accessioning, care of collections and interpreting collections through educational presentations to visitors.
This position is full-time (30-40 hours per week) and pays $13.00 per hour. Duration of employment: May 30 -  August 19, 2015. The Spiritwood & District Museum is located at Spiritwood, SK.
Skills required for this position:

    Willingness to learn new skills
    Computer literacy skills
    Basic office skills
    Must be between 16 and 30 years of age
    Preference will be given to applicants who have experience leading tours
