Description

Cando Is currently looking for an Assistant Managerfor the Special Projects Department of the Engineering and Track Services Division. The incumbent will work closely with the Manager to find new contract opportunities and develop a growing network of customers while assisting with the management of the day-to-day functions of the unit.
Assistant Managers with Cando assume the responsibility of developing short and long term goals with objectives for projects and ensuring the employees and/or subcontractors have the understanding, skills, training, and resources to achieve those objectives. Supporting all budgeting, scheduling and planning of the various projects under his/her responsibility, the assistant manager will maximize the use of resources (equipment and people) while reducing overall cost and will implement plans for managing risk and ensure risk is appropriately mitigated.
The successful candidate must have strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills with a minimum of five (5) years supervisory or management experience in a contracting environment. Incumbent must have the ability to hold and maintain CROR, GEI and GOI and be fully fluent in their application. Experience in safety management systems and strong computer skills are required. Post Secondary Certification in Business is preferred. The incumbent must have the ability to travel; conducting field activities including site set up, visits, investigations and audits while working alongside employees is required.
This is a full-time salaried position based out of Brandon, MB. Salary is dependent on qualifications and proven ability. Benefits include our Employee Group Benefits plan and eligibility to participate in our Employee Ownership Program.
