Role:
The role of the Competitive Gymnastics Director is to help foster the development of the program and athletes, working with coaches and communicating with parents regarding athlete's progress. It is expected that the Competitive Gymnastics Director be a role model to other coaches and to other athletes and that they conduct themselves according to Gymnastics Saskatchewan and Cheer Saskatchewan Code of Conduct.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coach athletes including lesson planning (minimum 8hrs/week coaching)
- Work with other coaches to determine appropriate levels of athletes
- Work with WAG, T&T and Cheer Head coaches to set targets for programs
- Support, supervise and hire coaches
- Provide support to WAG, T&T and Cheer head coaches
- Audit each gymnastics group and provide feedback to coaches
- work with coaches to ensure athlete evaluations are produced
- work with coaches to organize an evaluation for potential athletes in the rec program
- organize parent communication events
- meet with parent's regarding athlete's goals and progress as requested
- work with Administration staff to choose, organize and communicate regarding competitions
- maintain communication regarding athletes, coaches and program with direct supervisors
- coordinate coaches' time off and find replacement coaches
- conduct annual performance reviews for all coaches
- ensure coaches are completing weekly safety checks on all equipment
- ensure that equipment and floor space is cleaned and well maintained
- organize & facilitate professional development clinics for coaches/athletes
- any other responsibilities as requested by Directors
- maintain communication with Gymnastics Saskatchewan
