NORTEP/NORPAC is an off-campus university program located in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. The program is sponsored by the NORTEP/NORPAC Board of Governors in cooperation with the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Regina, and the Ministry of Advanced Education.
POSITION: Administration Assistant
DUTIES:
- Screens and directs incoming telephone calls, takes messages and answers general inquiries
- Provides word processing, photocopying, faxing service, composing of modest letters or memos, and miscellaneous administrative support for the staff and faculty.
- Arranges and coordinates accommodation for staff and instructors
- Maintains address databases
- Maintains the attendance board and answers inquiries with regards to the location of staff and faculty.
- Works with the Executive Administration Assistant to make sure the front desk is staffed at all times.
- Ensures that attendance records are up to date.
- Schedules bookings for boardrooms. Arranges catering for meetings as required.
- Performs general clean-up of kitchen and office area.
- Organizes, collates and binds working manuals for staff and students.
- Maintains the laundry card and is responsible for weekly cash-out and accounting on a monthly basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of office equipment and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to respect the confidential nature of information.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Highly competent in Microsoft Office and Windows
- Meets the demands of a geographically and culturally diverse clientele
- A criminal record check is required
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable an asset.
EDUCATION:
- Grade 12 diploma
- Bachelor of Arts preferred with post-secondary courses in office administration
- 1-2 years of related work experience in an office environment.
