PRINCIPAL/TEACHER

Stony Rapids is a fly-in community located on the banks of the Fond du Lac River in northern Saskatchewan.  This K-9 school has an enrolment of approximately 65 students, a professional staff complement of 7, para-professional support and a half time secretary.  It has a library, Industrial Arts lab, large gymnasium and Home Economics facilities.  The successful applicant must have a good background in using SMART boards and managing technology resources.

Desirable qualities for this principal teacher position include:
- minimum of five years successful teaching experience;
- orientation and commitment to community development and parental involvement;
- goal oriented, collaborative approach;
- strong instructional leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills;
- willingness to work co-operatively and positively with the parents and community;
- familiarity and experience with northern issues.

This is a full-time, continuing position to August 26, 2016.  The successful candidate must be eligible for Saskatchewan Professional A or Provisional Professional A teaching certification.  Applicants with a minimum of 5 years of school based administrative experience and/or post-graduate training in educational administration or curriculum studies may be given preference.  

Salary is according to the provincial grid plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing, a principal's allowance and a northern living allowance.  Moving assistance may also be available.
