Job Description: Reporting to the Vice President of Primary Health & Quality Services, the Director of Quality, Risk & Safety is accountable for the program leadership and innovative service delivery for Quality, Risk and Safety initiatives. The Director will support and guide quality improvement initiatives based on a Patient First philosophy and by using LEAN methodologies as per the Saskatchewan Healthcare Management System. Responsibilities include Accreditation, patient safety, risk management, emergency preparedness planning, concern handling, strategic and operational planning, visual performance management, continuous quality improvement, privacy, access and freedom of information. The successful candidate will guide the organization in developing and sustaining a supportive patient and family centered care environment.
Required Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a health related field, business administration, or commerce. Masters level would be considered an asset.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in a health care organization in a supervisory and/or management capacity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrate strong leadership and critical thinking skills to oversee regional strategic and operational planning, quality improvement initiatives, risk management & patient safety
Knowledge and experience in quality improvement methodology & tools including LEAN, group facilitation, program evaluation, change and performance management.
Ability to conceptualize and apply ideas to resolve issues and improve approaches.
