Description

Under the direction of the Museum Manager and in consultation with appropriate Curatorial Centre staff, the Education/Public Programs Coordinator will be responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating school programs, public programs and special events. The management and development of the Museums volunteer program is also within the scope of responsibility for this position. The Education/Public Programs Coordinator will ensure the development and continuation of a high public profile and a positive image for the Western Development Museum in the community.
DUTIES:
Be responsible for the overall operation of the Education, Public Programs and Volunteer department including fiscal management
Maintain liaison with the staff of the Curatorial Centre to plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate programs
Develop, coordinate, promote, implement and evaluate school programs, public programs and special events
Promote the use of Museum programs/activities to schools through regular contact with the area school boards and teachers
Be responsible for handling bookings of school and other group tours and ensure provision of information to all Moose Jaw staff and appropriate volunteers
Develop procedures and recommend policy for Museum tours and ensure their delivery
Develop and present teacher in-services and seminars
Develop educational programs, both school and public, relating to any travelling exhibits
Recruitment, orientation, recognition and training of volunteers
Supervision and coordination of volunteer activities
Other duties as assigned
