White Buffalo Youth Inhalant Treatment Centre is accepting applications from qualified individuals for the position of Executive Director. White Buffalo is a 10 bed residential treatment facility for First Nations female youth of Canada who are experiencing difficulties related to inhalant addiction. It is situated on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation , 45 minutes North of Prince Albert, Sk.
Under the direction of the Regional and Incorporated Board of Directors, the Executive Director is the senior manager providing executive direction to staff and programs of the Board. The Executive Director must posses the following qualities, knowledge, and experience:
-Masters Degree in a Human Services Field (Social Work, Psychology or Addictions), plus 5 to 10 years of related work experience in the management of a residential facility for youth.
-Minimum five (5) years continued sobriety/abstainer as required by organizational policy and evidence of a healthy lifestyle.
-A completed criminal security check.
-Executive management capacity in the areas of inhalant abuse and social services.
-Capacity to prepare and supervise the preparation of policy and programming documents, statistical analysis and annual reports.
-Knowledge of First Nations governance issues and federal, provincial policies and programs affecting First Nations.
-Ability to lead technical negotiations with funding and delivery agencies.
-Knowledge of First Nations language and culture, a definite asset.
