Description

Located downtown Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Slusar & Company Law Firm is a small, vibrant law firm with a focus in the field of Indigenous Law.  Over the past 25 years, Slusar & Company Law Firm has exclusively represented the interests of First Nations involving completing self-government arrangements, specific treaty and comprehensive claims, Indigenous economic development, and governance.  Our services transpire through a sovereignty model, which works to implement self-sustainability for our clients and requires working closely with Indigenous communities and their leaders.

This upcoming 2016 year, Slusar & Company Law Firm is pleased to offer a law clerk/paralegal position.  We are looking for a recent law school graduate who has a proven interest in the field of Indigenous Law.  Our clients issues often trigger intense research-based assignments and require innovative solutions.  Students who have undergone a J.D. (Juris Doctorate) and can demonstrate excellent research skills will be given preference.  Our sovereignty model often employs and relies upon legal principles developed under Federal Indian Law in the United States.  Applicants well versed with the doctrines of U.S. Federal Indian Law, Tribal Law, policy and governance are encouraged to apply.
