Description

Prepares and/or approves various account reconciliations including the bank and various sub-ledger reconciliations and applicable government reports
    Generates various financial reports including monthly financial statements for divisional headquarters
    Responds to routine enquiries, both internal and external to the organization
    Processes accounts payable & generation of payment instruments; monitors cash balance of local operating account to ensure sufficient funds available to issue disbursements; advises ministry unit management when shortages are incurred
    Processes cash receipts and contributions from the general public, congregational members, clients, etc.; prepares and deposits funds to the local operating bank and enters into local the accounting system; issues tax receipts as required for charitable giving
    May process accounts receivable invoices to clients of the ministry unit for services rendered, and/or prepare and distribute monthly accounts receivable statements to facilitate collection of outstanding accounts receivable
    Ensures the maintenance and accuracy of ledgers through regular review of general and sub-ledgers for accuracy; drafts & processes journal entries into the financial system of the ministry unit
    Maintains chart of accounts in line with territorial standards; upon approval, adds accounts into the accounting system
    May coordinate all payroll related transactions on behalf of the ministry unit
    Prepares or participates in draft budget preparation; enters approved budgets in the accounting system on an annual basis
    Liaises with local banks on issues pertaining to the ministry unit
    Ensures the maintenance of petty cash fund; ensures balance is appropriately safeguarded and replenished on a regular basis
    Performs general office duties as required    
    Performs other duties as assigned
