Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, this position is responsible for the following duties:
- Responsible for the safe day to day operation of the Mill, Acid plant, CX, Utilities and associated areas
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Principle regulators are CNSC, SMOE, Environment Canada, OHC, and LRWS
- Promote corporate safety initiatives
- Lead and assist accident/incident investigations and ensure they are completed thoroughly and in a timely fashion
- Ensure all members of the Operations group are trained to execute their daily tasks safely and efficiently
- Perform reviews of operational tasks, assessing risks
- Identify gaps between expectations and reality; rectify through coaching, training, or other approved and applicable methods
- Respond to Hazard Identification and Near Miss Reporting
- Maintain safety related documentation
- Inspect the workplace daily
- Assist in the day to day operation of the Safety Program
- Work closely with production supervisors and trainers to ensure consistent supervisory functionality throughout the department
Skills and Qualifications for the position include:
- Possess Grade 12 or equivalent
- Safety related degree, diploma or designation would be considered an asset
- Being a Resident of Saskatchewans North (RSN) is considered an asset
- 10 years experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Be capable of handling multiple priorities, work independently, and within a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience working in an industrial or mining environment
- At least three years of relevant safety experience
Work Location & Schedule:
- McClean Lake Mine site
- 7 days in and 7 days out rotating schedule
Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the
Athabasca region of Camsel Portage, Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac and
Wollaston
