Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Energy Division is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for a four month term. The Laboratory Assistant will perform basic and routine tasks in the Petroleum Analytical Laboratories in Regina.
Accountabilities
Analyze and log samples to specific standards and methods
Prepare reagents and standards for analysis
Prepare supplies and/or samples for shipment to customers or subcontractors
Assist with laboratory waste disposal
Ensure the work area and equipment are clean and maintained
Adhere to safety and quality control protocols and guidelines
Perform repetitive tasks that require patience and attention to detail
Qualifications
Minimum one year of post-secondary study in science or a related major that requires laboratory skills
Familiarity with basic laboratory instrumentation, standard operating procedures and safe work practices
Successful completion of courses in analytical chemistry an asset
Laboratory experience an asset
Skills
Team player with effective interpersonal, communication, and multi-tasking skills
Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy performing data entry using Microsoft Word and Excel
Good organizational skills with a willingness to learn
You will be required to work safely with petroleum and chemical products.
