Description

Organization:    The Saskatchewan Association for Community Living is a not for profit organization committed to the full inclusion of individuals who have intellectual disabilities.  Our Mission is to ensure that individuals who have intellectual disabilities are valued, supported and included members of society.  

The SACL is seeking an educational puppeteer for the Kids on the Block puppet show. Kids on the Block is an educational disabilities awareness puppet presentation for children.
  
Qualifications
Adaptability, flexibility and problem solving
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
Strong oral and presentation skills
Sign language and/or experience in puppetry an asset
Valid Canadian drivers license
Provide a current Police Record Check with vulnerable sector prior to start date

Duties and Responsibilities:        
Perform for live audiences using puppets  
Memorize scripts
Participate in ongoing rehearsals and upgrading of skills        
Be responsible for all equipment necessary for each presentation (This includes transporting equipment from one location to the other-personal vehicle not required)
Learn the techniques of answering childrens questions
Become familiar with the disabilities discussed in performances
Travel the province to deliver the Kids on the Block message that it is okay to be different. Travel will include occasional overnight stays and driving.
