This Casual position works 10 (Ten) hours and 15 minute shifts, 11:00am-9:15pm and 9:00pm-7:15am shifts; or 4 (four) hour shifts 7:00am to 11:15am. Shifts may include weekdays and weekends needing availability seven days per week. The position is responsible for:
- providing support counselling, advocacy, information, and referrals as necessary;
- implementing services and programs provided by Southwest Crisis Services;
- general maintenance of the Safe Shelter;
- administrative functions; and
- for participating in scheduled on-call back-fill Safe shelter staffing
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 or GED equivalent is required.
- One year post-secondary education or significant experience in social services or human services field is preferred.
- An understanding of and sensitivity to issues relevant to family violence, particularly violence against women.
- Ability and desire to work well with others.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Valid driver's license.
Salary: $14.00/hr plus a $1.00/hr shift differential for the 9:00pm-7:15am shift.
