March Consulting Associates Inc. is a multi-discipline engineering, procurement, and construction management provider based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Kitsaki & employee-owned, March Consulting employs professional Saskatchewan-based engineering, technical, and administrative personnel with a wide range of global and local expertise.
We are currently looking for a Controller who will be responsible for all of the accounting operations, including the production of periodic (monthly, quarterly and annual) financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the reported financial results, and ensure the results comply with GAAP or international reporting standards. They will also oversee the accounting and payroll staff to ensure compliance.
Other duties include:
1. Manage the production of annual budget and forecasts
2. Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
3. Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
4. Develop and maintain project accounting to accurately record project costs
5. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
6. Preparation of annual E&O insurance application
7. Analyze and audit Blue Cross invoices
8. Maintain leases and ensure payments are in compliance
9. Facilitate & organize yearly external audit including preparation of required documentation
10. Review audited financial statements and tax return prepared by external auditors
11. Prepare and submit all required reports as required by the government of Canada
12. Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
Qualifications:
- Accounting designation required with 2-5 years experience
