Plumbing and Pipefitting Instructor, La Ronge

The Plumbing and Pipefitting Instructor will be responsible for providing instruction and tutorial support to adults registered in the Plumbing and Pipefitting program. Areas of instruction include but are not limited to; Select, Design, and Update the Program Training Aids/Materials; Prepare and Deliver Lessons, Assignments, Lectures and Demonstrations for Education Purposes; Evaluate Students through the use of Exams; Assignments, and Observations; Record Student Progress; Supervise Students in the classroom, shop, and During Tours; Counsel Students and Prospective Students on matters pertaining to the program and job opportunities; Assist and Arrange for Equipment Maintenance within the Program; and Assist in Conducting and Maintaining Inventory, Ordering Supplies and Equipment. Additional duties include; classroom management; taking attendance and submitting on a regular basis; monitoring student progress and submitting reports on a regular basis; setting up and monitoring practicums; and other duties as assigned.
The minimum qualifications/requirements for this position are; a Journeyperson Certificate in the Plumbing trade complete with a General Gas and/or Domestic Gas Certificate along with 2 years recent relevant post Journey experience as a Plumber; strong communication and interpersonal skills; experience teaching in a cross-cultural adult education setting and a proven ability to work with minimal supervision. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
