Description

The RM of Sherwood is seeking an Administrative Assistant to work as part of our administrative and finance team to develop and deliver programs and services provided by the Municipality.  This will be a permanent half time position with the potential for additional hours as required based on workload and vacation coverage.

Key accountabilities include:

> Acting as first point of contact for visitors on site
> Provide reception  receive incoming calls, respond to inquiries, direct questions and transfer calls to the appropriate individual or department
> Receipt processing
> Prepare mail-outs
> Process and issue transportation permits
> Prepare internal and external correspondence
> File and record maintenance
> Participate in cross training and provide backup for other administrative assistants
> Assist with the development/implementation of the Workplace Health & Safety Program
> Liaise with Council, staff, and other levels of Government

Skills & Experience required:

> General accounting knowledge and experience (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing)
> 3-5 Years Administrative Experience
> Ability to work independently and as part of a team
> Effective time management with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
> Strong communication and organization skills
> Ability to address Council, Administration, Staff Members, and the General Public with respect and professionalism at all times
> Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills

This is a unionized position with a starting wage of $20.30 per hour.  Participation in the Municipal Employees Pension Plan is mandatory, and extended health & dental and other benefits will be provided as per current policies.
