Description

POS Bio-Sciences is a confidential contract research organization that assists clients with process and product development. We are proud to be an Employee-owned company and are looking for new members who not only want to work at POS but also want to be part of our exciting business.
As a vital part of the Operations Group, you will be responsible for ensuring that processes are carried out in the Pilot Plant with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day to day activities of Operators, and ensuring a safe productive, harmonious working team. The role includes overall responsibility for the safety, productivity, training, and work schedule of the operators.

Responsibilities
Coach, develop and maximize employee potential to ensure a competent and motivated team.
Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of Operations staff.
Oversee and ensure process activities are carried out safely.
Monitor equipment usage and maintenance.  Recommend improvements to increase productivity and the processing capability of the plant.
Ensure a productive, harmonious working team - motivate employees to excel and work effectively.
Work with Project Leaders and Process Coordinators to ensure process specifications are being met and provide timely status reports.
Maintain a knowledge and awareness of plant safety and fire prevention as part of each process execution.

Strong mechanical ability
Motivated, self-directed

Experience:
Grade 12 with courses in chemistry, sciences and math
Minimum 2 years working experience in a related plant environment
Previous supervisory experience is an asset
Two years post-secondary education is an asset
