The Engineering and Track Services Division of Cando is looking for a Materials Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement and distribution of all railway related steel internally and externally and will assist with the track construction process and sales of salvaged material internally.
The incumbent will be responsible for optimizing inventory levels and creating product pricing strategies to support the company growth initiative. Along with quoting prices, preparing proposals, and providing information about terms of sales, the Coordinator will manage scheduling, estimating, planning and logistics functions, focusing on maximizing use of resources while reducing cost.
With a strong understanding of sales principles and techniques, the successful candidate will have the ability to establish rapport with people and influence opinions, attitudes or judgements, thinking creatively and logically to resolve issues. Effective oral and written communication, computer skills and the ability to stay abreast of industry developments and changes in standards is required. Experience working in operations and/ or knowledge of track construction and railway materials is an asset however training will be provided to the right candidate.
