Description

Provides technical and consultative services and Band Council and Band Staff in respect to sound Band Government procedures, principles and practices.
by assisting and advising Band Council  and staff in the preparation of budgets;
by reviewing the Council and current staff progress and practices of Band Administration and making recommendations for change;
by interpreting and explaining to Council and staff the Band regulations, directives and administrative procedures in relation to Band Government;
by advising Band Council and Band Staff in respect to the Regulatory aspects of Band Government(i.e. Band Elections, Referenda, by-laws, etc);
by assisting in the preparation and continue updating of integrated Band Capital and O & M plans for long range forecasts of financial needs;
by assisting bands to prepare community plans for long range forecasts of financial needs;
by conducting formal planning seminars, workshops and training
by attending Council and Band meetings when requested;
by determining the concept of Band Government that Band Council and membership have and assisting them to achieve their goal of self-determination;
by reviewing all Court Decisions affecting Band Government and advising the Band Council as to the implications they have on their jurisdiction;
by keeping informed, examining and evaluating program alterations and advising Council accordingly;
by keeping informed of proposed changes to Band government legislation that may have long range effect on Band Government;
by keeping informed on the Constitutional process and providing up to date information on the Council and staff;
by keeping abreast of programs in other Federal Departments  and Agencies and advising Band Council of funding possibilities;
by acting in liaison capacity between governments, Organizations and Agencies and Band Councils;
any other duties as prescribed by Chief and Council
