POSITION SUMMARY
The Chambers mission is to represent the interests of its Members by advocating for a health community both economically and socially.  The GM is the face of business in the Weyburn region and oversees the efficient management of the Chambers services and programs, maintains strong working relationships with the federal, provincial and local governments, and is chief advisor to the Board and its committees.  

The skillset of the GM is one of sound business sense, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and a client focused approach to partnerships and resource allocation and gathering.

The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce (The Chamber) and Weyburn Regional Economic Development (WRED) work in partnership on operations.  The GM reports directly to the Board of Directors of each agency.   Weyburn Regional Economic Developments mission statement is to facilitate economic growth, which includes tourism, by identifying needs, coordinating resources, and developing partnerships.

COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
An understanding of business and the needs of business. Knowing how businesses grow and the basic principles of economic development.
Excellent relationship building skills.
Ability to travel.
An ability to participate in provincial discussions on issues affecting business and economic growth in Saskatchewan.
Strong management skills.
Strong financial management skills including budgeting and reporting.
Administrative skills including a good working knowledge of parliamentary procedures and a strong working knowledge of basic office software and communications.
