The Public Works crew maintains water, sewer, and storm sewer lines, streets, back alleys, and treatment of drinking water and waste water.
-Primarily work outdoors
-Work in wet and muddy conditions
-Lift and carry pipe valves into and around an excavation
-Shovel sand, gravel, clay, and wet mud
-Pass tools
-Run for parts
-Operate small equipment (plate tamper, packer, line painter, air compressor, tar machine)
-Operate dump truck
-Have the opportunity to train on heavy equipment
-Primarily work with a crew
-Normal hours will be 7 am till 4 pm
-Additional hours may be required
-Earlier start times may be required
-Work within an open trench excavation
-Work near operating equipment
-Work on the street open to traffic
-Join CUPE union Local 777-02
-Learn how to operate the water and wastewater plants
-Be willing and able to participate in the "on call" rotation
-Anything else requested
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
