MANAGER - Job Description
The manager role is a hands-on position that requires a strong knowledge of transportation and geographic area; the primary business is school busing. The manager is required to oversee the operations, safety, training, maintenance, and accounting team members.
Principal duties and responsibilities include:
* Provide leadership and direction to key departments: Operations, Safety, Training, Maintenance, and Accounting
* Maintain awareness of current industry trends and changes
* Assist in the development of operational budgets and forecasts
* Investigate and initiate change to improve operations systems and procedures
* Recruit, manage, supervise and direct personnel
* Supervise and delegate responsibilities of personnel, ensuring all routes are covered in the most equitable and efficient manner.
* Assist with driver performance issues by supervising and supporting the training officer.
Requirements
* Post-secondary education with emphasis on Management; or equivalent experience
* 3+ years operations and management experience with strength in decision making
* Familiarity with transportation sector
* Expertise in organizational planning and problem solving
* Knowledge of provincial and federal laws & regulations pertaining to industry requirements
* Knowledge of WCB and Occupational Health & Safety regulations
* Knowledge of budgeting and financial statements
