Description

The position reports to the Program Co-ordinator or Executive Director.  

Description:  is responsible for assisting in the delivery & organization of programs already in place as well as providing input & suggestions for program development and evaluation.

Responsibilities:

Client Support

Establishes a working rapport with all clients in the program
Provides individual supportive counseling & assistance with problem-solving & personal development as required
Facilitates & supervises client participation in program activities
Intervenes during crisis or critical incidents as appropriate
Ensures a safe & supportive group environment for all clients
Advocates in partnership with clients regarding specific identified needs
Transports clients as required

Implementation

Participates in on-going program development & long range planning through staff meetings
Performs other duties as required
Reports concerns or incidents

Administration

Assists in the preparation of program reports as required
Participates in agency activities as required

Budgeting
Maintains record of program expenses
Facilitates the collection, recording & receipting of client program fees for programs

Public Relations & Communications

Participates in public relations activities as required & represents the agency to other service providers, organizations & the general public
Provides program tours & orientations as required

Qualifications

Pursuing post-secondary education
Experience working with individuals with special needs preferred but not necessary
Some knowledge of mental illness
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Conflict resolution & crisis intervention skills
Class 4 drivers license able to provide a clear security clearance (including for work with vulnerable people)
